Shumon Ahmed

Shumon Ahmed works across various platforms to explore the fusion and cracks between video, photography, text, sound, installation and performance to conceptualize and give expression to ideas that are profoundly private and poignantly collective.

Ahmed was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh and studied photography and multimedia at the preeminent South Asian Media Academy, Dhaka, and The Danish School of Media and Journalism, Denmark.

His work has been previously exhibited in various galleries, festivals and screenings worldwide, notably at the Whitechapel Gallery in London, Fotomuseum, Winterthur, Switzerland and the Dhaka Art Summit.

Shumon Ahmed is one of the solo projects at the Dhaka Art Summit 2016.
